Living Room Tour
Oh, what a feeling! I am beyond thrilled to show you around our updated living room and tell you that I feel like a true adult. I'm having a lot of "is this REAL?" moments when I walk in here and the quality of life has surpassed my expectations...can you tell I'm home 90% of the time?!
The main reason behind all these giddy feelings is due to our new pieces from Article. Obsessed is an understatement and if you're a velvet lover like myself, your jaw might also be on the floor because look at that COLOR. We ended up going with the Sven Velvet Sectional in Cascadia Blue and I am so happy with it. It goes with everything and is a surprising neutral. It's so soft, perfectly firm in all the right ways, and cozy on another level. The chaise part of the sectional is where I have my coffee, start the day, and get a glimpse of the waves.
I also want to note the adorable bolster pillows it comes with for each side. Velvet on velvet is always a good idea, not matter what.
Can I marry this chair? JK, but really. This is my little golden dream and the color is even more striking in person. It's the Nord Yarrow Gold Chair (also from Article) and everything about it gets to me! The design is so smart and simple but the just the sectional, it's comfortable on another level.
Truth be told, I've never had an "official" accent chair and when I say that I mean: I've been sporting a plastic mid-century rocking chair that a full grown man can't sit in. So, perfect for me, but it had to go and WOW what an upgrade. If you want to feel extra fancy, sit in this chair with some whiskey after a long day.
Gotta say, I am very pleased with the contrast of the two pieces together as it turned out to be totally unique but classic and bold at the same time. Like I said: adult moments happening.
Another favored newbie is this portrait. I had the original framed (only 8x10) on the shelf above my desk for years. I had the idea of blowing this up and making it pink to tie in the rest of the art and YAS I am so into it. The smaller print was taken from a Vogue circa 1960 that I had picked up at vintage shop years ago. I do love her next to the majesty palm (how regal is THAT?) and the fact that she's looking out toward the ocean.
That's a wrap on the living room tour as it stands and boyyy are we excited or what! It's our favorite place to hang out and I'm sure I'll have more coming your way in this department very soon.
