10 Unique & Stylish Airbnbs in California
This year I’ve been exploring more of my own state and what I’ve been discovering is nothing short of magical. From Lake Tahoe to the central coast, there’s so much to see in California and (bonus) the drive is ALWAYS beautiful. I rounded up 10 inspiring and unique Airbnb stays that make me want to hit the road as soon as possible.
Joshua Tree
Joshua Tree has been on my list for as long as I can remember and this house looks like the perfect getaway. It’s a quick 20 minute walk to the town of Joshua Tree and the decor is beyond inspiring. I would love to head out here for a few days to unwind!
Palm Springs
Artistic Mid-Century Modern in Movie Colony East
Palm Springs is one of my favorite places to get away to for a long weekend and this mid century gem in Movie Colony East is a DREAM. I stayed here with my family once and every detail was so thoughtful. We lived in the pool and the kitchen was great for making big meals for everyone. There are multiple bikes in the garage which is perfect for riding around the neighborhood.
Lake Tahoe
We recently drove up to Lake Tahoe for a few days and I completely fell in love. This A-frame cabin looks so relaxing and cozy…sign me up for next Spring! This house is located in Carnelian Bay near King’s Beach and Tahoe City which is a gorgeous, quiet area with great beaches and restaurants nearby.
Yosemite
A-Frame Cabin near Yosemite/Bass Lake
Yosemite is one of my favorite places in California and I am 100% okay with everything about this cabin. It’s only 13 miles from the Yosemite National Park South Entrance, has a fully stocked kitchen, an open floor plan, and I can imagine being there as soon as possible.
Mill Valley
This Mill Valley home is tucked away in the trees and looks so serene. Surrounded by trailheads, it looks like the perfect escape. There’s a piano in a MUSIC ROOM (yes, that’s right), views of the forest from every room, and the deck looks ideal.
Sonoma
A Sophisticated Wine Country Cottage
This wine country cottage in Sonoma looks so fresh and breezy. There are two separate buildings (the main house and studio) which are connected by the deck and a cozy outdoor lounge area. Just minutes from Sonoma Square and nearby to the oldest wineries in California, it feels like the perfect getaway.
Aptos
Peaceful Treehouse with Ocean View
I audibly gasped when I saw this treehouse outside of Santa Cruz. This gem is studded with mid-century modern details and is only 10 minutes from the beach. The photos of the hammock out on the deck, the ocean view, and open floor plan has me looking into when I can drive up there!
Baywood-Los Osos
This cozy A-frame in Baywood-Los Osos is right off of Highway 1 just south of Morro Bay. This boho cabin is on an acre of land covered in eucalyptus trees. I love every detail and it looks like the perfect place to spend a long weekend away on the coast.
Topanga
Treetop Oasis with a Balcony and Mountain Views
This sweet guest house in Topanga is my 1970’s dream (and more!). I love the original wood paneling, quaint outdoor space, and there’s even an herb garden for you to enjoy during your stay.
San Diego
Industrial Light-Filled Loft in Little Italy
This modern Little Italy loft in San Diego is perfect if you’re looking to stay close to the city. The windows are 20 feet high and spread natural light throughout the space. I love the decor and how open everything is. There might be a staycation in my future!
